Recently, I spent some considerable time in the nameless dark of T.E Grau’s Cosmicomicon, and in that lightless void we whispered about horror for a very long time. A transcript of what passed between us can be found at the Cosmicomicon website.
We covered everything from why I write horror, to how I came to be published, the vault of grotesque horror I drew from for House of Small Shadows, the subject of literary fiction and horror, the current British and American horror fields (as I see them), how and when I write, some advice for writers, and before the darkness receded and became something else entirely, we even touched upon our shared interest in intense, heavy music . . .
It was a comprehensive exchange with Ted, and I’m very grateful to one of the most exciting new writers of the weird and horror, for hosting me over at his place.
