Honoured to have HOUSE OF SMALL SHADOWS appreciated in this way. And most delighted to see someone really get the lead character. We live in a time where heroism and happy ever afters can feel like a standard requirement in genre fiction, but in horror I think the horror is always amplified tenfold if a protagonist is one of us, and bereft of special skills and weapons. One of the great terrors is comprehending the horror of a situation whilst also recognising one’s insignificance and powerlessness within it.
