HOUSE OF SMALL SHADOWS MAKES BFS SHORTLIST

By 11th June 2014Uncategorised

Truly flattered to see HOUSE OF SMALL SHADOWS make the strong shortlist for the August Derleth Award for Best Horror Novel 2014. To dispel foul humours of the soul in moments of paranoia, doubt and anxiety about my works in progress, I often make still wriggling offerings to the two Derleth awards that I have on my shrine to the last black goat. Always heart-warming and a confirming peer recognition to get short-listed by the BFS. Congrats to all of the writers, artists and editors who are in the mix too.

Here’s the shortlist:

Best Horror Novel (the August Derleth Award) House of Small Shadows, Adam Nevill (Pan)
Mayhem, Sarah Pinborough (Jo Fletcher Books)
NOS4R2, Joe Hill (Gollancz)
Path of Needles, Alison Littlewood (Jo Fletcher Books)
The Shining Girls, Lauren Beukes (HarperCollins)
The Year of the Ladybird, Graham Joyce (Gollancz)
