ABSENTIA – I thought this was another first rate horror film. Compelling, tense and mysterious with a slow accumulation of the hideous. What also really stood out, and made the horror element more affecting, was the realism of both the dialogue and characterisation of the two sisters (the lead actors). A great script and minimal, well chosen sets. Smaller budgets and a more intense focus in a story seems to be going claw-in-glove of late with the horror I’m watching. My favourite line: “It fixates.”
