In these days of discoverability hell, books and writers need champions. I feel blessed to have two long term supporters in Ellie Wixon and Jim Mcleod, who invited me to Edinburgh to do a launch event for HOUSE OF SMALL SHADOWS last night. This is the second interview I’ve done with Jim Mcleod of Ginger Nuts of Horror, this one on-stage, and I was also lucky to meet a lot of new readers and fans of horror at the event. The venue couldn’t have been more rock & roll: an old school subterranean heavy metal club (it’s a miracle I am not still looking for the toilet). Ellie, curator of the best horror section in a mainstream book shop, has hand sold over 80 copies of THE RITUAL from her shop in Edinburgh. Respect and my deepest gratitude to Ellie and Jim. I salute thee both with my oldest and most shrivelled hand … Massive thanks to all who came and a clatter of skeletal feet to all who left the premises with a book.
